Pelagic (mid-water) trawling for pollock fish. This is a compilation of still shot and video edited to show a typical fishing experience on this type of commercial trawler in Alaska from start to finish. Unfortunately there is no audio. This video was made in 2006 on F/V Highland Light.
Pollock is a white fleshed fish used for fish sticks, fillet ‘o fish, and also a main ingredient in surimi (artifical crab). Other byproducts include fishmeal (fertilizer and animal feed) and fish oil.

The best bear viewing and salmon fishing on the planet. Ayakulik River Adventures located at the mouth of the Ayakulik River, on Kodiak Island, Alaska provides opportunity to view Kodiak Brown Bears as they interact with one another & spawning Pacific salmon.
This film was shot in July & August 2010 and features a sow with 4 new cubs who adopts a 2 year old orphaned juvenile bear. Behavior like this had never been recorded. Sequences include the new cubs and the juvenile nursing and catching salmon.

Fishing in Alaska can be amazing. My trip to Alaska was filled with great salmon fishing and mind blowing scenery. Some great footage of Ship Creek in Anchorage, Fly fishing for arctic char, catching pink salmon in Whittier, AK. The best pink salmon fishing I have ever experienced. Also some great footage of Potters Marsh, Cook Inlet, Turnigan Arm, B & J Sporting Good in Anchorage, and Prince William Sound.
